2. How can you be high without weed?
2.1. Excess endorphins;
The psychological functions of the brain are related to endorphins. It is a group of hormones present in the nervous system and the brain. A certain amount of endorphins are good for having a good mood but excessive endorphins can make you high without the involvement of any drugs.
Excessive endorphins can be produced if your body is overacting like doing more exercises than usual or performing pleasurable activities.
Serotonin is another reason why I feel high when I’m not. It happens due to more than usual production of serotonin hormone which directly relates to a happy mood.
If you intake serotonin-boosting foods like whole-wheat bread, nuts, eggs, and salmon, more than the usual amount of serotonin may be produced. Other things like pineapples, plums, and peanut butter can also produce excess serotonin in your body.
You may experience headaches, restlessness, sweat, confusion, and hypertension due to the excess production of serotonin in your body.
2.3. Dopamine in neurotransmitters;
Dopamine is more or less like serotonin yet different. If excessive dopamine floats in your neurotransmitter you are likely to feel high when sober. Dopamine relates to feelings of motivation and is great for the human body. It also relates to the feeling of determination and concentration. But if there’s an excess amount of dopamine hormone produced in your body it will make you feel manic, aggressive, and stressed.
2.4. Other supplements;
If you consume external supplements, that can be the reason why I feel high when I’m not. Certain supplements do make you feel that way, so it is best to take them according to the instructions of a doctor.
If you misuse certain pills and combine them with other substances, you’re likely to have other health issues like a panic attacks. Panic is one of the major feelings that we experience if high.
2.5. Bipolar Disorder;
Euphoria or bipolar syndrome is one of the major reasons why I feel high when I’m not. This gives a sudden sense of intense happiness and just the opposite the next moment. It will make you feel high without any specific happenings.
If you’re high you will feel physical and emotional numbness. During this phase, people become more an observer than feel their own emotions. They start perceiving their emotion as a third person from the outside. It may happen due to severe trauma, disturbing childhood, and so on.
When you feel detached from your surroundings, that is de-realization. It happens like you feel emotionally unavailable and disconnected from everything. De-realization may happen due to sexual abuse, the unexpected death of a loved one, or domestic violence. If all these come together, you may feel high when sober.
3. How do you overcome the question that why you feel high when you’re not?
3.1. You need to learn to control your brain and stop being controlled by it. When you realize the problem, you’re one step ahead of the recovery.
3.2. Finding a distraction may help you get over this problem. You can watch a movie, listen to some good music, or just focus on the other things that are happening around you.
3.3. Drinking plenty of water can get you out of the dizziness. Dehydration is a big cause of this problem and it may cause vertigo.
